Growler into pint glass. Pours a hazy amber with an eggshell-white head that dissipates rapidly. Initial impression is dark fruits, booze, caramel, and a touch of hops bitterness at the finish. Fairly thick, sticky mouthfeel. Carbonation is light. Finish provides a resurgence of hops.
This is an interesting take on a hopped barleywine. I like it.

12oz can served in a tulip. No date that I can see. Purchased at the brewery and flown home.
Pours a hazy amber with a perfect, large head, that fades very slowly. Moderate active carbonation. Smell is booze and barley, a little fruit juice.
Taste is barleywine, with a bit of a tropical twist and a nice hoppy finish. Booze is clearly present. Almost dominant.
Mouthfeel is very thick. Overall, not shabby, but not exceptional.

On tap at Kuni Sama
A: Pours golden orange amber with a little off white head that settles to a thin layer and leaves a bit of spotty lacing.
S: Fruity, raisin, plum, kinda melon, honey a little spice, slightly bready and a touch of alcohol.
T: Fruity, plum, raisin, cherry, cantaloupe, honey sweetness, mild spice, some almost bready malt, and a touch of alcohol.
M: Sticky full body, mild carbonation with a touch of warmth on the finish. Overall it hides its % very well.
O: The Oskar Blues rep was saying this is their new brewer's take on their barleywine and was pretty heavily dry hopped. I wish I could have gotten more than a 5 oz snifter pour. There's probably even more going on in there. I'm glad I got to try this one.
