L:. Pours a clear medium Amber color with a small white head and thick rings of lacing.

S:. Some toasted malt, slight bit, slight caramel, slight hop, but very weak aroma overall.

T:. Light malt and cracker, a bit of caramel and nut, a slightly odd bitterness, not an overly pleasing taste.

F:. Feels a little flat needs some more carbonation.

O:. I like Amber lagers but this one missed the mark. Oskar Blues really fubled this one away.

On draft at Old Chicago 5.4% ABV. The beer is a pleasant ruby color with only a light coating of tan head. The lacing is impressive. Not much for aroma, maybe a little malt. The taste is muted caramel with a little tinge of tang. Either OB didn't aim for the traditional flavor profile or this place has tap issues. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and well carbonated. Finish is dryish with a nutty undertone. Overall, not so great. Not sure what they were shooting for here, but this will wash down some pizza. Can't win'em all.

On draught at Old Chicago.

Pours a clear red with an inch of foam that lasts.

Smells of cracker malt, caramel, bit of hop bitterness.

Tastes of cracker malt, some caramel sweet notes, light bitterness. Lightly flavoured overall with a light body.

Good Amber Lager.

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a light brown amber color with a one finger head of foam. The head has a moderate level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is strongest of a sweet caramel smell mixed with a little bit of a roasty and toasty smell. Along with these aromas comes some lighter notes of earth and herb.
Taste – The taste begins with a moderately roasted malt flavor that is somewhat more bready in nature. There is also a light caramel upfront, which gets slightly weaker as the taste advances. While the caramel declines a bit some nutty flavors begin to develop at its expense. The caramel surges a little bit at the very end, and with a bit of herb and earth hop that come at the close, one is left with a toasty taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium in thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is rather average. For the tastes of the brew the slightly heavier body for the abv. is nice and makes this a slower sipper even though it is only at 4.5 % abv.
Overall – This actually is a pretty good more session style brew for watching football, as seems appropriate for the name. It’s slightly heavier taste and body keeps it slightly slower sipping and with the low abv., this could be a good brew to sip throughout a full game without hindering your cognitive abilities all that much.
