2019 release. Poured from bottle into a Carton teku glass. It pours a cloudy, unique orange-brown color with a half finger of foamy, eggshell-colored head and a thin sheen of lacing. Its fragrant nose combines fresh citrus, candied fruits, coffee, brown bread, and just a whiff of bourbon and vanilla. The taste opens with notes of tart lemon - almost sour - and oak balanced by sweet malts, vanilla and fresh coffee. The bourbon barrel is very delicate in a truly good way. The overall flavor is quite unique and hard to describe in words but absolutely delicious. It has a rich, creamy mouthfeel with a pleasing level of carbonation, and I'm absolutely amazed that the ABV is 11%. I can't remember another beer of any style where the alcohol level is so well masked. I think "dangerously drinkable" is an overused cliche but it's truly appropriate for this brew. Overall, this is a truly exceptional beer, the whole of which exceeds the sum of its parts. It's so well conceived and executed. I bought several bottles and plan on aging one. I hope Carton brews Balinatoreised again!

Easter Passover 2019 April 20-21. Lovely when your hometown brewer can surprise you, well done with Balinatoreised.
Shockingly good.
a) Bock classic with tan lace.
s) Complex, vivid green coffee meets malts, with an edge.
t) Like aroma but a real meditation beer, invites you back for more. Ancient, churchlike, incense, sweet malt with bitter roast and wood.
f) Creamy, rich, cleans up nicely. Taste off against any strong ale or lager.
o) A peak experience with which to celebrate another Spring equinox.
