077XX is our double IPA focused on harmonizing the extremes inherent in the nature of an American double IPA for long-term drinkability. 077-NYC is the Dubviant tuned up with a third Motueka exclusive dry hop inspired by the places that get it in Greenwich Village. Motueka takes lead squeezing an aromatic of lime over 0’dubs mix of dank resins and tropical fruit aromas. Drink 077-NYC when a little zip is in order.

Getting back to basics Carton Brewing veers from recent hoppy trends and puts together a classic East Coast-styled Imperial IPA with the heavy help of Motueka hops for a uniquely fruity, spicy and herbal attributes.

As 077NYC layeres into the glass, its glowing honey golden haze floats a creamy white froth that radiates with a perfume of citrus, botanicals and pale tropical fruit. Early impressions in taste are of wafer, honey, cashew, and of light caramel as its malt influences are moderate and simple.

The tide slowly turns toward the hops as the ale crosses the middle palate and the malts begin to loose steam. Trending fruity, a burst of citrus comes calling with white grapefruit, yuzu and a hint of key lime. Next comes a passionfruit and light mango twist as the taste turns tropical right before a spicy and resinous taste of spruce, gin, green tea and bay leaf close with a firmly bitter balance.

Increasingly bitter in its finish, the medium bodied beer carries a lighter, drier and more bubbly texture to keep things easy drinking for the palate. A long linger of botanical grasses, spruce and citrus peels outlast the malt sweetness by a good margin with a sticky and resinous dryness clinging onward to the throat

Canned ion 9/9/2019. Poured into a Carton IPA glass. It pours a hazy, bright orange-gold color, like the other Dubviants, with a creamy, milk-white head and lacing. The predominate smell is pine needles with whiffs of lemon, lime, and grapefruit. The taste opens with resinous pine followed by lime and lemon peel, and then a hint of sweeter, tropical fruit. It's earthy, citrus, and decidedly bitter. This Dubviant has more pine and dank citrus than most of the others. The feel is creamy but also crisp and clean with moderate carbonation, and the 7.8% gives it a kick. There's something more spare about this Dubviant -the lime and pine needles give it especial crispness and liteness. Motueka is one of my favorite hops and this is a very tasty and satisfying beer.

Right on the lime squeeze provided by the Motueka hops. This new 077NYC is among my favorites.
a / darker with plenty of lace.
s / subtle lime over tone on a regular dub base.
t / that bright, juicy citric lime note keep you coming back, and its a NYC edge too.
f / mid-weight, right tongue tickle - as good as Nelson and my other faves.
