Steering clear of the haze, Carton Brewing gravitates toward a fruit punch layered Brut Pale Ale that celebrates all things dry, winey and reasonably bitter. With the aid of cherry, papaya, mango and pineapple, the beer is sure to be more fruit driven than the standard Brut ale.

Brut Puncher pours a bronzen bruised peach color with a loose a foamy blanket that fuels a fruity, spicy and herbal scent with tropical, citrus and stone fruits and a pep of rose wine. With a low-lying sweetness on the tongue, the initial impressions of of light honey, grain and wafer with a fructose overtone.

With the malt impressions weakening during the course of the middle palate, the fruit flavors of pineapple shine first. As the mango, cherry and papaya add a richer and tangier fruit tone, the rounded character of sangria begin to resonate with the tastebuds especially after the drier and more champagne spices blossom. A medium level of hop bitterness brings the session back to the beer world with a late palate of lemon pepper, hay and spruce.

Medium light in body, the fruit flavors seem to add a sensation of heft to the session while the strong attenuation of the beer suggests a lightness and arid character on the finish. With a linger of fruit punch and botanical gin lasting medium long in aftertertaste, the fruits provide as much of a distraction to the session as they do complexity and charm.

1st Review. Billed as Fruited and Brut-ed Pale Ale with 6.5% ABV, SRM 5 and IBU 25. In brut trend and carton trend of fruit/veggie additives, which is working well here and in their sours, like Vild Bits and Context 1 (an all-time favorite)
a) Hazed apricot apa body with scant head or lace, but nice color.
s) faint, fruit, dry, dry white wine-like.
t) More fruit juice, fruit punch. A bit of fallen fruit dankness.
f) but seriously dry and crisp, like a fresh pressed cider. Nice unique, fresh feel.
o) dry bruts with fruit work here, and it's a new beer sensation.
