Traded for this a few weeks back as I hadn't had anything from Carton in quite some time. Quite an amusing name for this beer as this had quite the array of ingredients in it. The end result was something different, fun, in line with what I've come to expect from Stillwater, and quite complex from start to finish.

This had a turbid golden pour to it with some light seeping through. Plenty of fluffy head topped it off as the lacing left behind was layered and concentrated in the middle of my pint glass. Tons of floral notes, oats, SauerMalz, and Carapils in the nose as the taste followed suit. Earthy, naturalistic, rustic, and nuanced, there was some wood, white wine, spice, and dank stone fruit with some fruit cocktail in the aftertaste. The Citra was felt in the mouthfeel as this was quite slick but don't be fooled - this was a heavy beer that had to be enjoyed one sip at a time since there was so much going on as a lot of it took a bit of getting used to.

Can't say that I've ever had a beer that had both Hallertau Blanc and Galaxy in it but the end result of a combination would be on par with this with plenty of German Pils and American IPA both coming through in this. Dated 4/23 with "JOURNEY BEGAN" above it and "START @44F" written underneath it, this was one of the more unique collaborations that I've had as the end result was a fun beer that wasn't like any Imperial IPA that I've had before. If you like either of these brewers, check this out and take the time to enjoy it, especially as it warms. No need to hang the DJ with this one!

1st Review. Carton on a roll. Round 2 was a touch too sweet, too soapy.
a) Pear colored Nectar honey body with foamy pollen head and lace.
s) Floral, Mango, peach, orchard, blossoms, white wine.
t) follows aroma, nice see-saw from the fruit salad to peppery spicey finale.
f) creamy, sharp, hides ABV well, jammy and flavor-packed.
o) jazz.
