On cask at Carton
Oh Carton, it’s nice to be back. I had to capitalize on being in New Jersey somehow, and this is the best way I could think to do so. And they have a cask offering? Incredible timing. Let’s see what this one is all about
Pours a cloudy copper brown with 2 fingers of beige head that fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
The nose here is very grain driven, but there’s a wonderful fruitiness on top of it. I’m picking up on aromas of lemon zest, cereal grain, bubblegum, grassy hops, juicy strawberry, dark bread, and light white pepper
In taste it’s a bit less bright but still is wonderfully full. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting bready malt, sweet honey, orange zest, cereal grain, peppery hops, and light apple skin. The swallow brings notes of toasted grain, crackery malt, sweet honey, peppery hops, light strawberry, and lemon zest
A light medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a smooth and creamy beer. Finishes neutral with a nice little snap to help it go down easy
Damn, it looks like Carton can do cask beer really well too! This is just awesome stuff, I wish I could take the cask home

Looks and tastes soapy. hazed translucent pale with lasting thick carpet and lace.
s) toothpaste on bread, a bit of cellar and scat.
t) Follow aroma, some sunny grass, slightly inert like a cellar.
f) thick water
o) At cask temperature at Cartons, I feel like I'm in the middle ages.
