On tap at Carton
From the blueberry Weisse I just had to a blueberry Barleywine, despite the shared adjunct, they could not be further from each other. This one sounds super fun, let’s get into it and see if “pancakes” is indeed a good descriptor
Pours a mostly clear deep amber with a finger of creamy off white head that slowly fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing
Holy hell, pancakes is right. Maybe even more into French toast territory? I’m picking up on aromas of maple syrup, earthy cinnamon, overripe blueberry, creme brûlée, vanilla bean, coriander, doughy malt, nutmeg, and light cognac
It’s not as heavy in taste as the aroma would lead you to believe, but that does leave it feeling a bit thin for what it is. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting maple syrup, pancakes, red grape, sticky caramel, vanilla bean, cinnamon, golden raisin, and light blueberry. The swallow brings notes of maple syrup, earthy cinnamon, vanilla bean, overripe blueberry, creme brûlée, brown sugar, light walnut, and red grape
A full body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes mostly dry and drinks even heavier than 11%
This one is weird but quite fun. I was happy to only have a small pour of this, a full would’ve been a bit much

Added by Act 25. 1st review at the hometown brewer.
This works as the last beer of the evening,
Vanilla, especially cinnamon and maple are in evidence, yes feels like a drenched blueberry, soggy, cakey pancake.
Maple is dominant, but that is authentic and a good thing.
Smells like a liquor, and it is one, but better an 11% post dinner ABV than a 40% in my book.
