Like all things truly Jersey, 077XX makes the most in balancing through its accentuation of extremes. Inspired by the west coast IPAs we love, we added a thump of hops to a dynamic malt profile and chose a yeast to drive these two further than they wanted to go. Throw our water into this mix and you will find dank green resinous hops popping over orange, mango and papaya aromas, with just enough sweetness of body to make the long finish a pleasure to have around. Drink 0’Dub when your night matters.

16 oz. Can
Canned On: 10/24/18

Poured into a Tree House glass a pretty nice cloudy golden yellow color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice creamy two-finger white head, which also leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit, mango, papaya), piney. The taste is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit, mango, papaya), pretty nice pineyness. Medium body, ABV is hidden very nicely, with a pretty nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a very tasty brew. Nice to have gotten another chance to try it. Thanks Tom!

Poured into a Squatters true pint glass a very nice slightly cloudy golden yellow color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy one-finger plus off-white head, which leaves some very nice thick/creamy sticky lacing behind. The nose is very nice, hoppy, malty, with some very nice citrus and pine notes. The taste is also very nice hoppy, malty, with some very nice citrus, and pine notes, slight diesel like. Medium body, with some nice chewyness, very nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a very tasty DIPA. Carton did a very nice job on getting all this done, with only this ABV, VERY NICE!

Super fresh 4pk from Bottle King.
Poured onto IPA glass.
Thin white head dissipates quickly.
Nice golden straw color.
Pleasant fresh aroma, but only mild hop presence in nose.
Taste is jacked-up, old skool West Coast DIPA. Deep complex flavors of tropical fruit with fistfull of resinous dank.
Highly enjoyable. Insanely quaffable.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a lightly hazy, medium golden amber with a fine, two finger white head the great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of citrus, mixed fruit and piney hops, orange, mango, light pine and a touch of dankness. Flavor is citrus, piney and mixed fruit hops, orange, grapefruit, mild mixed tropical fruit and moderately resinous pine. Moderate resinous pine and citrus rind bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. I didn't get my hopes for this as a stated East Coast style IPA, but interestingly the description says it was inspired by West Coast IPAs, so that was hopeful. The pour was only a little hazy, so clearly not a New England style one. The flavor is West Coast inspired, much like the newer hybrid ones that mix some tropical and lighter fruit with the traditional citrus and pine. The hop bill is nice and satisfies my need for the resinous and citrus flavors, but adds some other interest as well as light dankness. The bitterness is a bit laid back; I'd like a little more kick, but it's satisfactory and the herbal hop character was fine. I just realized what the 077XX meant; some New Jersey zip codes. Probably blindingly obvious to those on the Atlantic shore, but seemed interestingly mysterious when I bought this. I liked this one.

Picked up in Asbury Park as post concert beer for the Bouncing Souls show. Head is short lasting and body is translucent golden. Nose is fruity with citrus and mango as well as being vaguely piney and spicy. There is a resinous blanket that covers this sip almost throughout, deep into the finish. Thee is also a heavy though still overpowered malt bill. Flavor is big on the pine needle and general earthy and medicinal hops. General dankness is high and picks up as it warms a little. I definitely can see the appeal.

Growler into pint glass. Pours a clear honey color with a persistent off-white head. Good lacing. Initial impression is juicy mango, sweet pineapple, and orange. Mouthfeel is sticky and thick. Finish fades to a dank fresh hoppiness. Overall? Delicious!

Pours hazy apricot. Moderate white head. Nice lacing. Nose is orange zest and pine. Taste follows, with bitter pine upfront, a hint of stonefruit, and a finish of bitter orange peel. Dry and refreshing. Kind of a hop bomb, not very much depth of character. Good for the style.

A single pour emptied the contents of a pint can into a clear glass liter mug. The stark white head might be overabundant, but the pour is relatively a good one. The brew is cloudy, but bright apricot-amber in color. Speaking of apricot, the aroma is mostly reminiscent of fruit. It's not particularly pungent. There's an appealing dryness that runs the entire tasting. It isn't fruity at all. Earthy piney is the best taste reference. It's not layered and there's not much taste transition, even during the finish. Nor need there be. There's sufficient malt for the body, but it adds to the earthiness rather than adding any sweetness.
Although there's only scant glass lacing, this is very, very good, overall. But, to think so, you'll need to enjoy a very bitter and dry hoppy taste. The hit from the ABV was surprising, as it didn't really show itself to the palate. Well, it is a Double IPA and it's worthy of the description.

Pours a mix of pale and bronze, mildly fluffy, but dense white head; very good retention with above average lacing.

The nose is so biting, in a pleasant way, on this beer…prominent resin and sappiness; all the biting aspects of pine without the aromatic needle smell, hiding behind there is a mildly fruity and orange smell to it with an green dankness trying its best to poke threw.

Taste carries a nice mild malty sweet presence that the nose does not hint at…after that the orange like fruitiness, and the sap bites on the finish; dank in aftertaste.

Medium body, prickling sappy bite immediately upon each sip that just coats the whole tongue; it then finishes incredibly dry with another wallop of hops in the form of substantial bitterness. This goes down so remarkably clean and easy; combine that with it’s intoxicating sap and pine, a dangerous combination for this guy.
