473 ml can served cold into a chalice. LCBO purchase for around $3.50 CDN.

Appearance - Pours a slightly hazy fleshy peach colored brew with next to no head. Plenty of visible bubbles within the brew.

Smell - Some blood orange, some wheat and hints of tartness, but not a terribly big nose.

Taste - Some blood orange, with some sourness, a little wheat and more so in the aftertaste, but quite watery as a whole.

Mouthfeel - Watery, with some drying features on the tongue at the close, carbonation is modest.

Overall - Disappointing sour, doesn't have as much blood orange as I'd hope for and overall feel is thin. Would work alright on a hot summer day because it is so light, but this one is a miss from me.

Tallboy from the LCBO; coded J110 (Sept 11 2020 if they're using coding conventions similar to the macros) and served barely chilled. The side of the can explicitly refers to this as a Berliner Weisse, but their website is more hesitant to commit, simply referring to it as a 'kettle sour'.

Hazy golden-yellow, topped with half a finger of fizzy white head that vanishes within sixty seconds. The surface is left barren - no cap, no collar, not even a speck of lace - pretty plain-looking, but that's the way it goes sometimes with kettle sours. Muted aroma of crackery pale malts, lemon and blood orange, with a twinge of yogurt-esque lacto funk.

Serviceable as a fruited sour, but the blood orange doesn't quite 'pop' enough to justify a fruit beer designation. It starts off sharp, with lemon and lactic acidity overlapping with crackery, wheaty pale malts; the blood orange joins the fray towards the finish, blending together with the lemon sourness, which remains dominant through to the end of the sip. Hints of orange sanguine fade into a lemony, faintly funky aftertaste. Light in body, with assertive carbonation that remains active well into the glass, lending a lively crispness to this brew's texture. Quite drinkable - I wouldn't mind another glass, but as with any sour I doubt I could drink this all night, in spite of its low abv.

Final Grade: 3.64, a B grade. Junction's Blood Orange Sour ain't bad, but it could've been better. Definitely more of a sour than a fruit beer IMO, with the Berliner Weisse label probably being most applicable... really though, this is one of those "gray area" beers that spans several styles without really nailing any of them. Worth a try if you enjoy soured fruit beers - I might return to this in the future, but only if I'm really in the mood for a citrusy sour.

Look: Bright orange with a thin 1/2 finger white head. Head disappears after 5 minutes leaving thin lacing
Smell: Crisp citrus. Orange Koolaid.
Taste: Tart sour oranges, more like digging into halloween candy than biting into an orange.
Feel: Watery on the front, tart at the back.
Reminds me of cheap sour candy, and orange kool aid. This beer earns a C.
