A light lager brewed with brown rice and using a blend of Norwegian farmhouse ale yeasts from Escarpment Labs. A super easy drinking beer with subtle sweetness and a crisp, refreshing finish.

I got a tall boy can of this beer from the LCBO store in Red Lake, Ontario whilst up there dropping my son off for two week hockey excursion. It poured a clear golden with thin white ring head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had subtle grain notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with crisp malt base and grain presence. The mouthfeel was very light in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

473 mL can from the LCBO; coded Apr 4 2023 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a cloudy medium gold colour, crowned with an inch of puffy, foamy white head that lasts for the better part of five minutes. It leaves behind plenty of stringy, sticky, arcing lace, with a soapy collar and sudsy cap upon the surface - very visually attractive, especially for a light lager. Its understated aroma of rice, grainy pale malts, lemony citrus and grassy hops is rather inviting.
More flavourful & fruity than your average light lager - not sure if that's hop-derived, or from the farmhouse yeasts, but it's probably a little of both. I'm getting hints of melon and lemon, scattered amidst a backdrop of grainy pale malts, Rice Krispies, bready malts and finally a touch of grassy, herbal hops at the finish. Weakly fruity aftertaste that quickly fades to dry. Light in body, with moderately low carbonation that gently brushes against the tongue, resulting in a smooth, slightly crisp mouthfeel; absurdly easy to toss back.
Final Grade: 3.84, a B+. I revisit a vanishingly small number of the light lagers that I review, but Junction's Krispy Light is quite possibly the best of its kind that I've come across so far. I could see myself keeping a few of these in the back of the fridge for when I want a beer without the accompanying buzz. A solid summer thirst-quencher that I encourage light lager lovers to seek out and try for themselves.
