This beer pays homage to everyone's favourite summer drink. Dry hopped and brewed with meyer lemons and lactose, this beer is unbelievably refreshing with a balanced tartness and notes of - you guessed it - lemon.

355 mL can from the LCBO; the canning date is smudged, but suffice it to say this is not particularly fresh - I bought it a few months ago, and this looks like a seasonal brew, so it could be as old as summer 2021. Served barely chilled.
Pours a clear pale golden colour, kicking up one finger of soapy, frothy white head that falls apart within two minutes or so. It leaves behind a sparse speckling of spotty lace, in addition to a tight collar and a filmy cap - looks about right for a lemon sour. Light lactic acidity on the nose, with hints of grainy malt, lemon yogurt and earthy, dirty hops.
It's moderately sour, but the lactose sweetness does temper it somewhat - I'm tasting lemon yogurt and mildly funky lactic sourness at the forefront, with a hint of earthy, musty hops close behind. The lactose kicks in on the back end, resulting in more of a lemon sherbet flavour towards the finish; more milk sugar and lemonade in the aftertaste. Light-medium in body, with gentle carbonation that meekly brushes against the tongue; soft and pillowy mouthfeel, as the lactose helps fluff this one up a bit. Fair drinkability - I finished off my can quickly enough, and could've gone for another.
Final Grade: 3.7, a B grade. Lemonade Stand is a serviceable lemon sour, but I wouldn't call it a superlative one. The vibe I got was more of a lemon yogurt & sherbet vs. straight up lemonade, but at the end of the day I enjoyed the glass and wouldn't mind returning to it again this summer, as it's rather refreshing. Probably worth a try if you have an appreciation for lemony sours.

355 ml can served cold into a tulip. LCBO purchase for under $4 CDN. Code is hard to make out, but leaves me to believe that this might be a considerably older can.
Appearance - Pours a non descript-hazy golden brew with honey brown hues. A finger plus of dense fluffy white head is poured and recedes rather quickly. No lacing to speak of.
Smell - Lemons with a creamy sweetness, lemon sorbet or lemon frozen yogurt might be the best way to describe this.
Taste - Lemon for sure, but rather reserved, some graininess in behind and rather refreshing, sour but not incredibly so and does remind of lightly sweetened lemonade or sorbet in liquid form.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, a little heavier than expected and while refreshing not immensely so. Carbonation is medium high.
Overall - Good tasting beer and well made, but didn't live up to expectations and just decidedly average. Might be worth trying a fresher sample to see if it makes a big difference.

Its apricot orange body looks fitting in the Duvel tulip with the big, pillowy paper white head that stands on top. Thick, chunky legs of lace are left behind.
Snappy lemon peels and oils give it a nice twang to start. As the lactose sweetness peaks through, it gives off more of a meringue impression. Just a bit of bready, biscuity malt character shines through.Tart, bright, and all lemon.
Pinch tart with heaps of lemon peel. The lactose sweetness is nestled right in the middle, not letting the sourness get to be too much. This turns the tart lemon into lemon meringue. Fresh biscuit is the underlay and extends a soft sweetness into the finish.
It carries some extra weight for 5%. I think the lactose gives it some heft. Prickly carbonation really accentuates all things tart.
This is a very well done straight shooting sour. Lots of natural lemon flavor and twang with a bang on balance coming from the lactose.
