473 mL can from the LCBO; no canning date. Served slightly chilled.

Pours hazy and turbid, its apricot yellow-hued body capped with one finger of soapy, frothy white head. It lasts for little more than two or three minutes, quickly worn down to a sudsy collar surrounding a patch of film on the surface; spotty lace deposition over the course of the glass. Pineapple stands out on the nose, supported by hints of floral hops, grapefruit, passion fruit, peach and pear; smells juicy and enticing.

Quite tasty; its juicy-sweet flavour profile is fruity and slightly warming. I'm tasting pineapple, peach and green mango, as well as mandarin orange slices in syrup; the malt background is wheaty and bready. Floral hops and resiny bitterness develop later on, preceding a fruity, slightly acidic conclusion of stone fruit & passion fruit, with hints of citrus pith and mango lasting into the aftertaste. Medium-full in body, with potent carbonation that adds some bite to its otherwise smooth, slightly juicy mouthfeel. Knocking back one can is easy, but I don't think I'd want to drink multiples.

Final Grade: 3.9, a B+. Love Triangle 19 isn't perfect, but on the whole I'm impressed - its pineapple flavours really pop, and even though they're totally hop-derived, I've had beers with actual pineapple as an ingredient that failed to showcase the flavour as successfully as this. My one gripe relates to the acidic burn that comes through on the back end, but for the most part this brew's fruity hops provide sufficient distraction. A little pricy, but worth trying while it's still fresh.
