Like the vicious rabbits that slowed the search for the Holy Grail, this wheat based IPA is deceiving. It smells like tropical fruit and looks light but it has a strong and bitter bite. Beware.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned, from the University Ave. West LCBO in nearby Windsor. My third from the Toronto brewery, and first for 2025. Great flavour and artwork.

473ml can served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for about $5. Listed as 6% ABV.
Appearance - lightly filter rich golden color with a small half finger of head. Modest retention.
Smell - Clean fruity notes with plenty of melon and candied citrus leading the way.
Taste - Light citrusy taste with melon, candied mango and possibly even a hint of banana.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, crisp carbonation and highly drinkable.
Overall - A pretty good, fruity and sweeter IPA, with a lighter than expected body makes for a juicy and refreshing IPA.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Jun 6 2024 and served barely chilled. Listed at 6%.
Pours hazy and translucent, its pale yellow-hued body topped with one finger of soapy, foamy white head that fizzles off within a minute or two. It leaves behind a tight collar and some filmy wisps on the surface, with decent lace deposition as the level drops. Wheaty malts and orange peel on the nose, with additional hints of pineapple, grapefruit, lemon, pine needles and floral hops.
It's a serviceable BIPA - flavours of orange peel, apricot, grapefruit and pineapple come through initially, backed by grainy, wheaty pale malts. Finishes with lemon, clove spice and floral, piney hops that add some bitterness to the mix; lemony aftertaste with some yeast spiciness. Medium in body, with average carbonation that lends a spritziness to this white IPA's smooth, soft mouthfeel. Pretty good drinkability, but I'd be lying if I said that this is something I'd want to drink all night.
Final Grade: 3.78, a B+. Far from being the most foul, cruel and bad-tempered rodent you'll ever set eyes on, Rabbit of Caerbannog is actually a very solid white IPA. All of its components fit together quite well: the wheaty malt base, the tropical fruit & citrus-laden hop profile, the spicy yeast qualities and orange peel each add something worthwhile to the experience. There aren't exactly a ton of Ontario breweries that have done this style justice, but Indie Ale House's is one of the better stabs at this style that I can recall reviewing in recent years. Worth a shot if you can find it.

Nope, not retired. Reappearing occasionally. And good good thing that is.
A great rendition of an AIPA. Lots of flavour and aroma and not just another mindless punch in the face with overpoweringly bitter hops. Pineapple and pine for me, both in the nose and on the palate. Grainy, kind to the tongue. Strikingly flavourful and worth a try. Hazy pale yellow, substantial head, and good lace. Worth a try.
Named for that innocent looking rabbit that mercilessly slays several knights in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Becoming a regular go-to when not quite up for a full IPA or just need a break. Has all the things you love about an IPA, aroma, hop flavor and body AND the delicate wit notes, wheat body and head. Love it

Had as part of a paddle at the brew house.
A- Pours a high white head that lasts. Translucent almost a blue hint on the colour side. Very light gold color and unfiltered
S- Oodles of hops here. It's a cross between a Hoegaarden and an IPA. Wheat IPA is a new style I do like a lot
T- What a tasty blend between wheat and IPA. Well balanced and loaded with hops. No heat at all so you can go through a few of these easily on a hot summer's day
M- Dry and crisp as expected
O- Very good brew. Like the blend between the styles and they are in good balance to each other. One does not overpower the other. Will buy again
Food Pairing
This nice little brew went well with........ Taco salad. Nice ripe tomato with lettuce and cheese top with some hot sauce and sour cream. Delicious as this brew cut through the spiciness of the dish
Enjoy

On tap at the Bar Hop Customer Appreciation Night.
Hazy darker yellow, good lace and retention. Nose has wheat and citrus up front, some yeast, malt sweetness. Herbal hop character as well. A bit of honeydew melon as it warms. Taste has sharp wheat, yeast, light citrus, odd graininess that becomes more prominent as I move through this. General fruity hop character in the finish. Medium feel, bitterness was a bit much. An OK White IPA, but I wasn't wholly satisfied.
