Estrella Jalisco Spicy Piña Michelada has a thick, crackling, pink head of foam, which quickly dies away and an opaque, red appearance, with lots of chunky film left behind. The aroma is of clam broth, fruit, and tomato. The flavor is of sweetness, pineapple, tomato, salt, and clam, with a touch of spice heat. Estrella Jalisco Spicy Piña Michelada has a heavy body and a salty end.

24oz can poured into pint glass. Picked up from mexican market for around $3 and change. No discernable date, which makes me wonder since this is allegedly "retired" according to BA. 20337 printed on bottom of can. Maybe that's the year and day of the year? Dec 3, 2020? Hopefully that's the born on date, but if not it's only missed its freshness date by a month or 2.

Appearance - Deep orange-red body with lots of floating particulates. Opaque though the glow of light does illuminate it from behind. Head is a frothy orange-pink and contains floating particulates as well. Decent retention. Patchy goopy lacing and stick. 4.5

Smell - Mild lightly peppery clamato. Sort of muted and muddied. Not a bad smell, just sort of boring in how toned down it is. 4

Taste - Not bad. A little muted and muddied but very smooth, I think in part because the pineapple really rounds it out. And the pineapple isn't very present or obvious, it's just this underlying feature that balances things, though it will sometimes pop through the flavor noticeably for just the smallest moment. No off notes of any kind. 5

Mouthfeel - Smooth. I'm probably used to the intense ridiculous spice of Fuego budweiser clamato by this point so this seems super smooth in comparison. Intensely smooth, mild spice. 5

Drinkability - I have to say that I am a little biased because I love micheladas. And while I'm not typically that much of a fan of the spicy or fruity variants, this one does both very, very well. Rating in style, this is a pretty good beer. Rating to my preference, it's a really good beer. Amazingly smooth and drinkable, and I could have this all day. 5

Looks like a Michelada with a reddish hue and a skin of white foam.
Smell is unusual and very fruity. Almost like tropical fruity.
Taste also has a fruity aspect. Not picking up on the spicy as they say on the can.
Mouth is pretty light, maybe bouncing to medium with the tomato addition. Lots of carbonation helping this go down. Nice mouth feel.
Seems a bit high priced when pitted against better tasting Micheladas. However it does redeem itself a bit in offering something a bit different with that fruity aspect. Just wish I could have found a bit more of the spicy notes.

Got this from RaulMondesi. 25 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 3/24/2019. Pours murky/cloudy reddish orange/amber color with 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap eventually. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tomato juice, pineapple, fruit skin, lime, salt, garlic, onion, celery, chili pepper, peppercorn, brown sugar, cracker, and white bread; with light notes of clams, vinegar, and herbal/spice earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of pineapple, clamato, salt, and moderate pale malt notes; with big strength. Taste of huge tomato juice, pineapple, fruit skin, lime, salt, garlic, onion, celery, chili pepper, peppercorn, brown sugar, cracker, and white bread; with light notes of clams, vinegar, and herbal/spice earthiness. Light herbal, grassy bitterness; and chili pepper spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tomato juice, pineapple, fruit skin, lime, salt, garlic, onion, celery, chili pepper, peppercorn, brown sugar, cracker, white bread, light clams/vinegar, and herbal/spice earthiness on the finish for good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of pineapple, clamato, salt, and moderate pale malt flavors; with a fantastic malt/bitter/spiciness balance; and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, creamy tomato, and grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warmth of 3.5%. Lightly increasing pepper heat after the finish through the glass, but not overwhelming. Overall this is a fantastic fruited michelada! All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of pineapple, clamato, salt, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, refreshing, and fairly crisp to drink with the modestly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Fantastic soft feel, not overwhelming on any aspect. Perfectly balanced between Clamato, pineapple, and clean pale lager flavors. Mild residual sweetness with lingering crisp dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and top tier style example. Was expecting more pineapple initially, but everything works wonderfully together. Best I've had for the style.
