On tap:
Beer pours a nice black, with off-white to tan head. The head collects thickly at the edges. There is a film that also stays on the surface for quite a while. Lacing is fairly significant. The nose is almost absent cold, and gains little as it warms. The ginger does eventually come through, and I do get a bit of oat. What I amusing is any roasted notes.
The taste comes through with the ginger up front. There is a light malt bitterness from darker malt. However it doesn't come through strongly enough. The oat presence is also noted lightly, and the ginger/oat/dark malt combo does yield a decent flavor, but not a great one. The body is medium-light, fairly smooth, but with perhaps a bit too much carbonation.
An okay beer that I'd grab again at the brewery if in the mood. A bit more black malt and oatmeal feel would help (the nose is less important to me in this case, but BA formulas are what they are).

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
