Pours a faintly translucent dark brown into my oversize wine glass. A 2+ finger tan head rises above, leaving moderate lacing as it recedes.
Very fruity in aroma, more so from the bottle. Vinous with bourbon and oak. Alcohol is very evident. as is wild yeast.
The first taste was really sour, but this moderated, allowing more of the sweet malts to show through. More bourbon and oak.
Medium full in body. Prickly carbonation upfront, then rather syrupy, becoming drying and almost numbing in the end.
A really good beer. In the end, it seems even better than what I rated it as.
