one of the best bull and bush beers i have had in a long time, a new one from what i gather, and way outside of their usual hoppy/english wheelhouse too! a radiant orange wheat beer, served in their new globe glasses, with a tall head on it and some density and haze to it, but still very bright in color and luster. it smells and tastes like a tropical cocktail complete with umbrella. its got such a southern hemisphere hop bouquet that its almost outside the realm of what i know about saison. its wheat based sure, and it has a belgian sort of funky astringent yeast to it, almost tart for a second there, but there hops are so juicy and fresh and fruity and well timed and dosed and everything else, it just takes hoppy saison to a new place for me. it shouldnt be as surprising as it is, all of the beer here is great, but this is not what they normally do. smooth and big in body, maybe a shade under carbonated, but mild acidity more than makes up for that and i never really miss it. overall a bursting juicy hoppy saison that is something outside of the box and infinitely drinkable. i had a blast with this one, and it rocked with some chicken wings. going to get back there this week for a few more of them!
