either single hopped or predominantly hooped with citra, this is back on at the bull and bush. a clean ipa, light for the style in color, very pale complexion with an inch of white head. it smells if citra hops all the way, sticky and sweet, fresh and new, with that same english ale yeast that makes its way into so many bull and bush brews. the flavor is the same, somewhat simple really, light malt, english yeast, american high alpha citra hops, light lemon and orange melon, clean finish. excellent carbonation and refreshingly light. not as dynamic as it could be, and maybe not the best showcase of the citra, but its an easy drinking ipa. citra also may not be the most versatile hop, despite my previous musings on the subject, im not sure it bitters well, and as a late hop addition, it tends to crowd out other flavors without being especially crisp. still, a tasty brew and im glad its back.

Ah, Justice. The B&B already has an excellent IPA in "Man Beer" but this one kicks the hops and the malt up to a new level.
It's not DIPA territory, but just a bolder version of the same style. Almost like an "Export IPA."
Arrives a light copper color with a 1/4" head. It's draft, so that's pretty standard. The foam coats the glass, so it certainly doesn't lose any points on the pour.
Smells citrusy with a pretty strong bready smell. Reminds me of a freshly baked lemon cake oddly enough.
Tastes sweet and malty, but with that west coast citrus hop infusion to keep things balanced. Even though it's an IPA, the malt plays an integral role in the beer. Can't say I've had another quite like it.
Mouthfeel's not too thick, and this went down almost too easy. I'm not sure how strong it is, but it's drinkable in the same way a SNPA is.
It might be a little too sweet and malty for a true hophead, but I'm loving it.
Of note, the Falling Rock has this on the hand-pump here and there. Grab it when you see it!
(Edit) I had this again this weekend and the hops felt as though they were kicked up even more than usual. It's got DIPA level grapefruit flavors, but it's not nearly as boozy. Still an all around great beer, but make note that it can be hoppier than the batch I had earlier in the year. Since it's a small batch and hop poteceny can vary, it makes sense. I'd say this beer can vary from balanced to a hop bomb and both are excellent.

Wow! I gave this bad marks in the past but the one I had last night was awesome. Light orange-yellow in color with a white head that dropped quick. The smell reminded me of candy. The taste was sweet with fruity notes and a real bitterness. This was a pretty excellent beer.

Bet this would be great on cask...
Pours honey/bronze with a pinky of offwhite head. Great head retention & lacing
S: Grapefruit & a little breadyness, then some pineyness as this warms
T: Citrus hops up front. Then piney hops & a little breadyness. Finishes crisp, dry & hoppy, wish there was a little more malt taste to go with the body
MF: Medium bodied with healthy cabonation (makes the hops pop)
Drinks too easy, a nice hop head IPA that I could easily session on

A deep golden color pour, nice sustained head of about a 1/2 finger. Smell of citrus hops with some cherry, i think it was. Not very strong, but consistent.
Taste was a good punch of hops, followed by a semi-sweetness of malt, some grapefruit and pear.
Mouthfeel was a bit creamy or buttery, kinda weird. I thought it would coat a bit, but it finished fairly crisp.
Good drinking: listed as seasonal.

From tap to a pint glass at the Bull and Bush.
Small head due to pour by the bartender, but they did attempt to save room for the head. Slight lacing. Beer was a hazy golden color with some orangish hues. Ok looking beer.
Smell was great. Slight pine and orange citrus with a nice roasted malt sweet smell.
Smell transfered over to the taste. The hops were mostly pine but the malt really came though for a sweet taste. Not overwhelming, but good. It has a nice balance with the malt taking a slight lead. I thought this was a nice change for a small production IPA.
Mouthfeel was great. Nice and oily. Coats the mouth well, and just the right carbonation to break it free. These are definitely drinkable. I had two pints of this one, and had I not had to go to work the next day, I probably would have had another.

Poured a rather lively burnished brass color, almost like a nitro charged ale, even though it was a cask ale. Very surprising for a cask. The loose, thin had betrays from whence it came, however.
The nose is total hops, not just hops, really, but fresh, grassy hops, as though right off the vine. This is a hophead's wet dream. It's a citrusy enough aroma that there's more than a subtle hint of orange peel in it. Absolutely remarkable.
Given this aroma, the taste is, not surprisingly, fresh, citrusy American hops. It's just this side of overwhelming, yet still fantastic. It wasn't cold, it wasn't overly carbonated. It's just what a cask ale should be. I'm having a hard time finding any malt in here, yet the beer has enough sweetness to keep the hoppiness from being sickening, so the malt is obviously there. It just hides well behind the hop wall.
The body is a firm "medium", yet feels even more full due to the lack of carbonation in the cask-conditioned beer.
The overall impression is that of a strategically weilded hop bomb. This is NOT a beer for those uninitiated in the way of the hop. It is, however, a hophead's delight. Oh, how I wish this were available in Kansas City. Excellent beer, and if you're in B&B territory, well worth seeking out.
