Served cold in a small goblet glass, maybe about 10oz. $4.50
It has a dark redish brown color with hazy clarity and no head.
Aroma is mild and sweet. Hardly anything to detect here. No head -> hardly any smell.
Flavor is sweet and peaty with a definite smoked malt taste. Not really smokey but peaty like a scotch. I guess that's where it gets the Highland name. Caramel and toffee flavors, a little toast. Enjoyable but this little bit goes a long way.
Mouthfeel is medium-full body with very low carbonation, almost flat.
Overall it's tasty but really needs to be better carbonated to build the aroma and mouthfeel.

This has been one of the most unique beers I've been drinking lately.
Color looks light at first (think lager), but has brown highlights. Depending on which angle you see it, it almost looks like it has a darker beer floating in it, but I think it's just a trick with the lighting in the B&B.
Smell is sweet and malty, but with a little smokiness...and some definite fruit overtones.
Taste is sweet up front. Reminds me of a caramel apple. Actually, caramel apple flavor is really what this beer is all about for me. It's almost like a really malty beer and cider mixed together. It's unlike anything else I've ever had anywhere.
It's a little thin, BUT that adds to the drinkability of this beer. It nearly goes down a little too easy! I'm not sure what the strength of this brew is, but I'd guess it's at least 6%.
If you don't like sweet flavors, steer clear of this one. If you do (or like I mentioned, if you like apple) then give this a shot. They've had this one on tap for the last 2 months, so hopefully it'll stick around.
EDIT: In recent years I've noticed a more distinct smokiness to this beer and a lot of the residual sweetness (unfermented sugars?) has mellowed.

Had this today at lunch. Poured caramel with 1" of white head. A little head retention & a couple of flecks of lacing
S: Some fruittyness & a little cardboard/paste smell at the end
T: Caramel & little smokeyness up front. Some fruittyness follows. Finishes a little dry with malt sweetness & a hint of toffee, just didn't quite come together taste-wise
MF: Sticky, low carbonation, with medium body. Balanced well for the style
Drank okay, the flavors din't really live up to the style or at least come together very well, & the smell was a detractor Worth a shot.
