From notes during my GABF 07 trip (had at the brewpub itself).
Appearance is muddy and dark brown/red - nothing special.
No head. Smell is somewhat funky & sour but with a touch of sweetness.
Taste is nice & tart cherries with a pretty thick - for the style - body.
Tartness lingers for a good long while. Beautiful.

Dark red-brown with no head. The smell was like vinegar but not in a good way. The taste was strong sour vinegar with some cherry and alcohol flavors. This one upset my stomach and I think this 2005 vintage was past its prime. God only knows what it was like fresh. This beer was not good and I happen to like sour beers.

Had this Sunday while watching some football.
Poured a burgundy hued chestnut with zero head. Near zero lacing & head retention
S: Tartness, cherry & hints of vanilla, & vinegar sourness
T: Tartness, cherry pits, & huge woody dryness up front. Dryness really grabs hold as this warms. Finishes tart, dry & with some cherry vinegar notes, along with tannins & a touch of vanilla
MF: Slick with medium body & no discernible carbonation
This is a very dry kriek indeed, pun intended! My wife digs krieks, but found this a little too sour/dry for here tastes. I on the other hand enjoyed it, just had to have plenty water to go with it! This compares more than favorably with some Belgian iterations I've tried

Pretty interesting item from the B&B. This is a 2005 vintage offering that I'd assume was related to the 2007 GABF. There's also a vintage Lambic version of the Yule Fuel that was also made available for the season.
This one arrives in the typical B&B goblet. It's a dark brown color with reddish brown highlights. Not a whole lot of head, but a small white sheen is on the top.
Smell is definitely that of a lambic. Acidic citrus, vinegar, yeast, and sour cherries.
The taste of this beer reminds me a lot of a kriek version of the Duchesse De Bourgogne. If you took that brew and made it a little more sour and tossed in some cherries - this is what you'd have. Okay, maybe not exactly, but that beer came to mind a lot with this one. It has a more acidic traditional lambic flavor, but the brown sugar and balsamic flavors really jump out.
Like many of the B&B's offerings, this one packs a ton of flavor. I'm not sure why, but they're also kind of sticky, too. For a cool night, it's perfect. For a session on a warm fall afternoon you might look elsewhere.
I like this one. It's a lot more authentic that I thought it would be and it's not as sweet as you might think. If you crossed Cantillon Kriek and the Duchesse, you'd likely have something like this beer. I think the Belgians might be proud of this item.
