Labeled as an Imperial Red, and I like this style! On-tap at Taps Irvine, on to the beer:
Crimson colored and topped with a half-inch of head, Rubescent quenches both malty and hoppy desires. It's nicely hopped and brings melon, honeydew, and tangerine aromas, while the taste melds the two aspects of malt and hops well. Not only balanced, but the alcohol is hidden well too. Tangerine, orange, and fruity flavors grab the palates attention, riding a medium full and smooth body. In the world of Taps, this is one of the better one's that I have tasted.
