Pours a rich dark brown almost completely opaque. Aroma definitely lets the Bourbon be known. But some chocolate notes peek through as well. Flavor is definitely Bourbon forward, warm. But the chocolate and roast comes through nicely to tone down the initial strength of the barrel. Whiskey comes back in subtly on the finish. Mouthfeel is a tad thinner than I usually prefer for an Impy stout.
