Here's the only demerit to this beer: The head is brief and ineffectual. Absolutely no lace. The color and clarity is beautiful -- deep amber and crystal clear.
Sweet and creamy with a touch of alcohol to the nose.
This is a richly malty, strongly hoppy brew. Very smooth with an extraordinarily rich mouthfeel. Decent carbonation to counteract this. The alcohol gives this beer elements of a whiskey. Good hop finish and aftertaste. In a word, complex. Of the flight of eight beers, this is by far my favorite.
