Light brown color and crystal clear. Good starting head which settles to rim bubbles. Sporadic spots on the glass.
Lightly sweet (I was told that molasses was added to the mash). Very pleasant roast to the barley that had me thinking this was a Brown Ale (as opposed to being a Red/Amber).
Nice unexpected hop bitterness on the tongue. The malt base dominates with a autumnal flare of fallen leaves and camp fires. One distraction though comes in the form of cardboard which was described to me as part of the unfermented carbohydrates from the baked beans.
