A 500ml bottle with a BB of March 2014, so it's just out of date. Purchased a while back from Trembling Madness in York. Freestyle Fridays #36 - a random saison brewed with cardamom, coriander and new hop variety 'Experimental 366'.
Poured into a tulip pint glass. Bottle conditioned. A very hazy golden-amber hue with tons of fine sediment and ridiculously intense carbonation that made it hard to pour. Produces a vast head of fluffy white foam with superb retention; this slowly reduces to a thick meringue-like layer. Some lacing. Aroma of rich spicy notes and fruity yeast with hints of cardamom, coriander, clove, mild bubblegum, apples, a citrus twang, subtle grain and earthiness. Nicely rounded and absolutely fantastic.
Tastes of fruity yeast and spice, with a lingering dry finish. Notes of coriander, mild cardamom, clove, subtle bubblegum, earthy yeast, a hint of citrus, faint grain and stewed hops. Highly attenuated, followed by a restrained, spicy bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with effervescent carbonation and good body. A shade too carbonated. Pretty astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of spice, fruity yeast and earthiness.
Very tasty - a delicious take on the style. Looks great if rather lively. The aroma and flavour are nicely rounded with notes of spice, yeast and subtle fruitiness. Good body. Arbor have created another stunning brew - the spice additions are superbly judged and mesh perfectly with the yeast. The hop character seems faint yet it hardly matters. Top notch; well worth sampling if you come across it.

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a dimpled pint mug.
Pours a medium hazy orange colour with quite a lively white head.
Smells peppery, with a hint of orange zest.
Tastes fruity and zingy, with a hefty dose of hot pepper, combined with quite extreme carbonation.
Overall quite disappointing.
