Served from tap in a shaker pint glass at the tap room.
Trivia is going well, but not perfectly. Hmm... Anyway, this stuff pours a hazy midnight straw topped by a finger of lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises pine, light leek, mild cereal grains, and grapefruit rind. The taste brings in more of the same, along with some orange zest and a powerful belting of musty yeast. Unfortunately, this yeast drowns out a lot of the hops' expressiveness, and the "balance" created between the two factions isn't exactly a placid one. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a drying finish. Overall, not a bad BPA, but the tension between the yeast and the hops doesn't create a Baroque tenebrism, rather a JSA-style border between feuding nations.
