Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a deep brown color with a small head of tan colored foam. The head fades has a decent retention, fading over time and leaving touch of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strong of roasted malt and chocolate smell mixed with caramel and a bit of vanilla sweetness. Along with these aromas comes notes of brown sugar and toasted bread, along with some burnt toast and a bit of molasses.
Taste – The taste begins with a strong showing of a roasted and toasted, slightly charred brown bread smell mixed with a bit of the caramel, brown sugar, and chocolate that were in the nose. As the taste advances, the flavors bitter a bit with some coffee grounds and bitter nut joining in. All the while the sweet fades while the roast intensifies, and with a bit of earthy hop joining in at the end, one is left with a somewhat bitter, dark and roasty taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium with a moderate carbonation level.
Overall – A decent porter overall. Not overly sweet, but with a nice balance of bitter and dark roast/char.

A really solid, flavorful porter with nice complex malt notes. Notes of coffee, dark bread, and a hint of smoke as well.

Smooth robust porter, big roasted coffee and dark bakers chocolate. Medium to full mouth-feel for a porter. Slightly smokey with great carbonation. Has a creamy finish.

Aug 2015 brewery draft - pour dark black, typical porter. Brown foam. Still. Strong coffee nose. Burned bitter. Smooth mouthfeel, maybe too much so. Heavy bitter, all coffee. Good porter, but a little strong.
