A short train ride on the Underground from Central Station to Chiswick is Fuller's Brewery. Fuller's Chiswick Bitter is the inspiration for this English Style session ale. Made with Maris Otter, Special Roast malt, East Kent Golding Hops and fermented with English Ale yeast, this beer will surely make you feel like you're in an English pub.

Had on cask. Murky orangey brown with a full mushroom colored head, suds of lacing left in dots and bands. Taste reminded me of the cask ales of London that I adored: orange, grassy hops, light toast, expressive english yeast, and a touch of sulfur. So damn good!!! Nose more yeast focused version of taste. Body is spot on, light bright and smooth with light backbone, yeast dries a bit with softness. Wonderful EPA on cask, if I lived closer I would be here a lot just to drink this

Served in a shaker pint glass at the TH tap room.
Bring on the milds, baby! This one pours a hazy sienna topped by a half-finger of dirty off-white foam. The nose comprises light-ish roasted malts, nutmeg, light clove, black pepper, oak, walnut, dark greens, and even a bit of light cocoa. This may be the spiciest- and sweetest-smelling mild I've ever encountered. ...I like it. The taste holds notes of light coffee, dark greens, black pepper, very light brown sugar, oak, light pine, light wheat, and grass. Yeah, the spices from the nose mostly vanish once the tongue gets involved, but what's left still works pretty well without them. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and something akin to a very mildly chewy feel. Overall, a touch overcarbonated for my tastes (let's get this on that beer engine, boyos!), but beyond that a pretty tasty little mild. Right on.

Served in a 5oz taster glass at Tighthead 4/29/12. Thanks to the Dood for making the trek with me!
A: Served a cloudy carmel brown. Quite tarnished. One finger of light khaki foam sticks around for a bit before melting down to a lace leaving collar.
S: Toasty malt..and light hops.
T: See above. Lovely flavors here. Toasted carmel malt and British hops. Frigging killer!
M: Smooth and quaffable with a tiny bit of British grit. Excellent.
O: Loved this. Next time, I hope they have it on cask to compare.
