Poured from a 64oz growler into a 20oz imperial pint.
A: Pours a deep russett/chestnut brown with certainly more clarity than the cask pour. 1 1/2 fingers of light brown foam lays on top before quietly melting down to a thick collar.
S: Loads of unsweetened chocolate, pan roasted nuts, and a hint of chocolate. Also picked up a bit of sourdough bread crust. Wonderful nose!
T: Definitely less coffee than in the cask pour but the chocolate has been dialed up a notch. Nuts and lactose, as well.
M: Thinner and with slightly more bite than the cask version, but this does manage a bit more sweetness to even out things a little.
O: This is a great session ale. Hopefully Tighthead can push some kegs of this out the door so some other folks can get a chance to try.

Served in a nonic pint glass at the tap room.
Nice to finally try something from TH's beer engine, especially when it's a beer made for such a delivery method. It pours a dark garnet-russet topped by a finger of off-light-tan foam. The nose comprises husky grains, light cocoa, light coffee (the two are pretty well enmeshed together here), and warm, fresh pumpernickel. The taste brings in more of the same, with the bread coming in lightly toasted and the coffee appearing a tad bit stronger. Gotta say, this stuff tastes awesome! The body is a light medium, with a decidedly light carbonation and a damn smooth feel. Overall, a very nice dark mild, something I hope remains on the engine for some time, baby.
