Served in a nonic pint glass at the tap room.
Gotta keep it low grav for trivia night, y'know? This stuff pours a straight obsidian topped by a half-finger of khaki foam. The nose comprises roasted malts, very light hickory smoke, and mild dark chocolate powder. The taste brings in more of the same, with a straight-up punch of roast leading the way and maintaining things throughout the decade, Eisenhower-style. It may be just my mind making things up, but I think I got a touch of that Guinness-style sourness in the very back at times, but, regardless, it was pretty weak. The body is a light-leaning medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a slightly drying finish. Overall, a solid Irish stout, a welcome addition to the nearly nonexistent realm of relatively low-alcohol/high-flavor styles out here. Good times. (Spoilers: We won the trivia competition...)
