Poured into a tulip glass from a bomber bought at the brewery a couple weeks ago.
Yellowish brown color with beautiful, creamy head and great lacing. Subdued sweet, slightly fruity smell. Tastes of pear, sweet apples, and a bit of caramel. Smooth feel. Nice overall beer!

Middleton Brewing "Galena Belgian Double [sic]"
on tap at the brewery, 6 November 2015
Notes: 8.1% ABV. Deep ruby brown body appears almost black in the pint glass beneath a short head of creamy khaki. Aroma: powdery yeast, clove-like spiciness, and mild dark fruitiness (plum) over darkly caramelish malt. Flavor: follows with additional rain/plum. Toasty with an edge of burnt sugar. Soft & smooth malt. Gently spicy with some softly sweetish clove in the drying finish. Round, balanced, smooth. + !!!

The beer is a nice deep brown with a lasting head. Smells and tastes like chocolate and plums. Also has a bit of roasty and bready flavors. A very smooth and well balanced beer.
