Cloudy dull yellow pour with a white one-finger head. Aroma is funky with a hint of lemon. Really nice tart and dry taste with lemon dominating the flavor.

Poured from growler into tulip, minimal head, no lacing. Looks a turbid pale straw yellow, somewhat similar to chicken broth. Smells of wet blanket, old cheese and some mile lemon. Taste is a bright tart with lemon, nice semi dry finish. Lick your lips and it is like you had a sour candy. I have a 64 oz growler of this to work on this week, there are worse things to have :). Nice beer that my daughter picked up today while visiting their brewery. Nice funky Berliner Weisse.

Middleton Brewing "Mr. Weiss Guy"
on tap at the brewery, 6 November 2015
A fairly typical Berliner weisse in appearance with perhaps a bit more cloudiness than needed. It's a hazy/cloudy straw gold beneath a short head of bright white. As is quite common with draft Berliner weisse which lacks the robust carbonation that many bottled versions exhibit, the head retention and lacing are fairly limited. That's OK then as it's expected. This one has an odd aroma, which is also OK, and it's hard to figure out. It's funky like wet wool coated in sugar... but I don't know, it's more than that... hmmm, hard to describe. There's a bit of "cheesy feet" to it as well, which is a lot easier to pick out. The flavor follows - without the cheesy feet, thankfully - and it's pretty much right on par for sourness. It's a good version, and it's got more character to it than most without getting to "weird". If you appreciate the style it's certainly worth trying.
