really good rich red ale right here, not sure why they call it an imperial though, with an alcohol this low, that really doesnt make much sense. the color is really beautiful deep amber color, great clarity, brick red darker center, over an inch of tall off white fluffy head with fantastic retention. the beer is very nice, pleasant and bold toasted and caramelized malts, crystal and pale and honey and cara types, lots going on, with a darker red dry grain than i see very often in these. not sure what accounts for that low end cereal note here, but it isnt sweet in the least. there is a cool yeast flavor too, loosely english in flavor and feel. the hops are not real intense here, but they arent absent like they are in a lot of these. its more than just bitterness, kind of a light pine or spruce complexion, which is lovely with the grain. i like how its a little more layered in the malts, and i like how toasty and almost warming it is. nice full body, palate coating and bigger, but also on the dry side for the style and really easy drinking. my first beer from these guys and i really liked it.

Had a great color and was really excited when I was told it was an American red pale ale. Nose had slight malt but no hop.
Taste was kinda blah, didn't really get much. Could tell it had high abv from taste and got slight malt.
Feel great carbonation and mouth feel pretty big head.

Poured into a snifter. Comes out a dark red/amber color with an assertive hop profile on the nose. The hops shine through, balanced by the malt. Great aroma. Thin mouthfeel. I’m finding a great nose on the beers from these guys, a clean taste and a bright finish. Not quite sure it’s strong enough for the imperial moniker but it’s pretty solid.
