Poured from 16oz tall can into a tulip. Canned 1/17/18.
Appearance: dark, caramelly red-brown hue with two fingers of creamy tan foam. Definitely too dark for a cream ale, but for an imperial coffee cream ale, I guess I can let that criterion slide.
Smell: coffee and sweetness; nice enough, but not a lot of complexity overall.
Taste: very sweet with a decent coffee component. There's a bit of a vegetal character, I think coming from the coffee. I just think there's not enough background to really support the coffee.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent level of carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: this beer just isn't really my jam. There's not enough stuff going on to stand up to the coffee and it kind of doesn't work.

Just a stronger caramel cream, the latte flavor doesn't really come through.

Poured from a crowler into a Sam Adams nonic pint glass.
Deep amber color with a thin head and minimal lacing.
Coffee aroma dominates with caramel and roasted malt in the background.
Very mild carbonation with a smooth mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden.
Great combination of their tasty Caramel Creme Ale with a slightly sweet coffee blend.
