Poured into a snifter. Purchased at the Due South tasting room.
A- Pours a semi-hazy amber color with a 1/2 inch off-white head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a mold-like pattern of surface foam that indicates healthy yeast. Splotchy and resilient ring of surface foam.
S- Wonderful aroma of Belgian yeast and spice that's bursting with notes of banana and coriander.
T- The yeastiness maintains in the flavor with very little drop-off in intensity compared to the aroma. There's some faint toasty malt detected but the power of the yeast reigns supreme. More notes of banana, coriander and a bit of clove. Alcohol is barely noticed. Delicious.
M- Lively and bright from the yeast and medium carbonation. A lot of the smaller breweries sometimes have this watery body to their beer and lack of carbonation (some of Due South's other offerings even have this characteristic) but not this beer.
O- By far, the best brew I've had from this outfit. They're small and rather new, but they definitely know what they're doing.
