On tap at BJ's in Valencia, CA.
Pours an almost opaque super dark orange-brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Thick rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa powder, lactose, char, and slight coffee bean aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa powder, earth, char, and roasted peanut flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with an interesting roasted peanut flavor I wasn't expecting.
Serving type: on tap.

Officially a "chocolate ale". This one is definitely heavy on the chocolate, and there's not much else behind it. A decent dessert beer and better than their regular brown ale.
