This one pours a deep copper color with a reddish tint and beautiful tan foamy bubbly 1+ finger head that turns to a nice thin collar and some nice lacing.
The aroma leaves you drooling, nice sweet fruits with some caramel, mollases, butterscotch, very nice malts and maybe some hints of nuts.
Taste is buttery cream, with the butterscotch and a tinge of sweetness that brings out the nice fuity flavors and turns to bitterness with a peppery tinge and tart and finishes of dry..and you sit there looking for more....this is a great beer.
Mouthfeel is a medium to full flavorsome and creamy feel.
This is one of my fav's,great beer with lots of flavor, very enjoyable..a beer you can have any time.

I heard of this brew at a Fullers/BJ's dinner in Laguna CA and I finally got to try it at the Tustin BJ's.... man, i wasnt disappointed.
It poured a beautiful coppery color with shades of burnt mohogany and a light but present head.
On the nose I could detect roasted malts with toffee and maybe some kettlecorn.
The taste was a nicely balanced ale of caramel, faint molasses, and biscuits. This is true to the British style and very tasty. I had two pints and would have had more if i werent driving. I will be going back to get some more.

This arrived as a light orange and gold, looking a little thin. There's a tiny ring of head and no lace.
The smell isn't very good, being weak and entirely of plain malt. The taste follows up with grains and seems to be void of any interesting flavors. The mouthfeel is pretty flat, and while not hard to drink, it's not just very desirable.

I stopped in at the Arcadia, CA BJ's with a golf buddy and, after getting half of the run-down of sodas, martinis, and specialty drinks from the waitress, interrupted her to ask if they still served beer and did they have anything cask-conditioned. Waitress: *blink, blink* "Huh, why yes, we've got our ESB. Scotty's ESB." Me: "Sold!"
I received a pint of dark amber colored brew that had minimal carbonation (to be expected) yet sported a thick, sticky white head that latched onto the glass like glue. Visually very appealing.
The nose had the aromas of toasty malts and some fruity, floral notes. Lurking in the background and briefly rising above all else was a modest twinge of butterscotch, but more than I care for.
The taste was pretty consistent with the style. Good flavor of toasted malt which holds up well throughout each pull. Lighter fruit aspect, on the lines of apple and pear. Decent level of bitterness far back on the tongue. Feel is dry and medium-bodied with light carbonation giving it a velvety texture.
Overall, this was quite drinkable. My buddy and I put away a couple pints apiece. A nice example of the style. Scotty learned well while working at Fuller's.

West Covina brewer Scott Manning spent a week in London assisting brewers at Fullers and his batch of ESB was shipped here for all to enjoy
Pours a deep copper with brilliant clarity and a rapidly dissipating collar of foam. Nose is earthy in the English style with a yeasty / caramel backdrop.
Entry is smooth with middling carbonation and a taste influenced by the British malts. Midtaste has a slight vinegary overtone (just like the real Fuller's) that leaves one wanting for a plate full of bangers or fish-n-chips.
The finish features fuggles followed by a prolonged malt fade.
