Dubbed "Oaked Jeremiah Red". 3rd 5oz sample at BJ's (Brea) 5/17/2010. All variations spent about the same amount of time in the barrels (since September or October 2009) and looked about the same.
Pours deep red and mildly hazy. Nice white head with not much in the way of lacing or retention.
Aroma is sweet and oaky with a hint of funk. Some caramel present.
Flavor is definitely oaky. There is some passion fruit and caramel in addition to very (very) little sourness. Possibly a hint of vanilla.
Body is medium and pretty drinkable. Good beer. This is the best of the 3 that I've had so far.
