5oz sample at BJ's (Brea) 5/17/2010. All variations spent about the same amount of time in the barrels (since September or October 2009) and looked about the same.
Pours deep red and mildly hazy. Nice white head with not much in the way of lacing or retention.
Aroma has a hint of vinegar but also has some nice cherry and caramel notes. Very pleasant.
Flavor is also a bit vinegary but controlled. Cherry, caramel, a little barnyard, and some French oak all play a role in the flavor.
Body is medium/light and very drinkable. This is enjoyable for sure.
