Hop Nectar I is part of an adventure brew series with rotating experimental hops. In the first part of the series, we decided to blend Mandarina Bavaria, Citra and Azacca hops to give off bright notes of tropical dankness and a luscious golden hue. This lower ABV ale is loaded with the perfect balance of citrus and tropical notes, satisfying your thirst without sacrificing flavor. Join us on this truly hoppy adventure and be on the lookout for the 2nd beer in the series.

I think Latitude 33 is a great brewery and undervalued in San Diego, so I always go out of my way to get their stuff when I see it at Windmill Farms. This was a new one with the can reading, “Hop Nectar I is part of an adventure brew series with rotating experimental hops. Poured a medium yellow hazy color with three fingers of rocky-to-frothy white head. Could see lots of bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Almost perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled peach, apricot, Mandarina Bavaria, mandarin orange, tobacco (this makes no sense but I kept getting it), cantaloupe, melon, guava, passion fruit, Simply Tropical Juice, red grapefruit and light Citra. Better out of the can with Mandarina Bavaria, peach and guava leading the way. (Smell - 3.75)
Taste wasn’t as good as the nose. In order got peach, guava, mango, bitter red grapefruit peel, pine forest, mandarin orange, cantaloupe, melon, passion fruit, dish soap, lemon zest and lime. For mentioned hops, Azacca leads the way, followed by Mandarina Bavaria and Citra. (Taste - 3.50)
Light body. Oily texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Abrupt, dry finish. (Feel - 3.50)
I really wanted this to be better and I may have underrated it just a tad, but not a lot of flavor here. Will keep trying the ensuing numbers though. (Overall - 3.75)
