In this third edition of our ultra-limited rotating IPA series, we forge a path through seemingly endless trails of murk to uncover our own tropical oasis. Loaded with whirlpool additions or Loral and Mosaic followed by the perfect blend of Eureka and Pacifica, this hazy juice bomb is absolutely bursting with hop notes of orange, peach and marmalade without a hint of lingering bitterness. And, as is true with any hidden paradise, this limited release won't stay a secret for long.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England IPA
Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. Teku glass
Price: $3.29
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Sept. 17, 2020
Consumed: Sept. 23, 2020
Misc.: No canned on date
Picked up a can of this with a bunch of other stuff on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. Didn’t care for the first version of Hop Nectar, giving the Session IPA a 3.69 on April 30, 2020, but gave the second one (Hop Nectar 2) a 4.00 on Aug. 20, 2020. I’m also a big fan of Latitude 33 beers. Back of the can read, “In this third edition of our ultra-limited rotating IPA series, we forge a path through seemingly endless trails of murk to uncover our own tropical oasis. Poured a light amber, semi-hazy color with 3-to-4 fingers of off-white frothy head. Could see a few bubbles creeping up toward the top of the sides of the glass, but not many. Good spotty lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled dish soap, marmalade, caramel malt, nectarine, peach, orange mandarin, dark fruit, floral and stone fruit. For mentioned hops, Loral and Mosaic led the way, followed by Eureka. Looking up Pacific (still kind of new to it), it would be last in this order. Much better out of the can with orange and peach notes leading the way. (Smell - 3.50)
Taste was about as good as the nose. To me this wasn’t so much a New England Style beer (not like it particularly said it was) and more an American IPA beer (not like it particularly said it was). Fairly malty. Got marmalade, dish soap, orange mandarin, nectarine, peach, stone fruit, dark fruit, floral and bitter citrus rind. For mentioned hops, more Loral, followed by Mosaic and lesser Eureka. Grew on me as it went down. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Somewhat bitter finish. (Feel - 3.50)
This was good overall, but was hoping for more. (Overall - 3.50)
