On tap at Whole Foods in Venice, CA.
Pours a hazy orange-brown with a foamy tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, spice, and yeast aromas. Taste is much the same with grain, yeast, and spice flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of yeast and spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with nice yeast and spice flavors.
Serving type: on tap.

On tap at Fifty Seven Degrees in San Diego. Dark amber color in the tulip. Pleasantly spritzy on the tongue. Winey aroma. A whiff of fermenting pineapple. Warm and malty with a dark woody tang.
Pleasant yeasty flavor with the drying sensation. The fruity flavors are nice with mango and peaches. Some roasted malt with a hoppy edge. Bitterish aftertaste and some nectarine and dark toast in the nose. Really pleasant and substantial beer. Brewer says there is some chocolate malt and coriander, and the hops are Perle and Northern Brewer.
11/02/2013 update: Had this again at Fifty Seven Degrees. Quite dark amber color with a darkly fruity flavor. Malty and tangy with a mango taste, and quite bitter in the finish.
