Watermelon Lemon Gose
The arrival of Spring has us very excited about the release of our 1st German style Gose! Kettle soured and lightly dry hopped, this beer is light bodied, dry, and refreshingly tart. With notes of lemon zest, guava, spruce and a hint of coriander, this brew pairs perfectly with warm weather and good friends.
Malt: NY Hard Red Winter Wheat, Pilsner Malt
Hops: NY Centennial, Liberty, Sorachi Ace
4 IBU

A: The beer is hazy light pale yellow in color and seems to have a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short white head that quickly settled down and left a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of sourness are present in the nose along with hints of lemons and watermelon.
T: The taste follows the smell and is somewhat sour with a bit stronger flavors of watermelon towards the finish.
M: It feels light-bodied and tart on the palate with a low to moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and has some refreshing qualities. I liked how the addition of lemon and watermelon were not overdone but lent some added dimension to the smell and taste of this gose.
