Look - pour slowly or you will have a beautiful 3 inch light coffee colored head. I believe this beer was bottle conditioned. The beer is brownish black. After about 5 minutes the head dies back to about a half-inch with tan lacing all around the glass.
Smell - coffee-mocha, maybe a little root beer/bourbon from the barrel aging, and a hint of alcohol.
Taste - dark chocolate, coffee, bourbon with just the right amount of sweetness to balance the dark malt bitterness. This is a very delicious coffee porter that is easy to drink considering the ABV.
Feel - medium bodied, smooth, yet well carbonated.
Overall - it is a shame that more people haven't rated this beer. It is a hidden gem, in my opinion.
