I like fruity beers and I am becoming a fan of "hard seltzer". However................this one was WAY, WAY too sweet for my liking. I had to put about 1 cup of lime juice in it to make it drinkable. I would NOT choose this one again. Unless I was dying of thirst and had NO other choice.

12 ounce bottle into perfect pint glass, best before 10/2017. Pours slightly hazy white color with a 1 finger foamy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lightly tart lemon, key limes, citrus zest, vanilla, cream, and white sugar. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of citrus fruit, vanilla, and sugary sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of lightly tart lemon, key limes, citrus zest, vanilla, cream, and white sugar. Very mild citrus tartness and zesty bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lightly tart lemon, key limes, citrus zest, vanilla, cream, and white sugar on the finish for a while. Nice robustness and balance of citrus fruit, vanilla, and sugary sweetness; with a solid malt/tart/bitterness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from bitter/tartness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy, and slightly slick/syrupy mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.4%. Overall this is a nice fruit beer. All around good robustness and balance of citrus fruit, vanilla, and sugary sweetness; very smooth and refreshing to drink. Very flavorful, but not overly sweet/syrupy. Tastes like a cross between cream soda and 7-up. A nicely enjoyable offering.

12oz bottle - I can't believe it, but given the weather lately, I could actually go for a fruity brew!

This beer pours a grey-tinted, clear water 'colour', with three fingers of puffy, rather loosely foamy, and mostly just fizzy off-white head, which leaves a bit of remote islet lace around the glass as it quickly dissipates.

It smells of store brand lemon/lime soda (not exactly Sprite or 7-UP), thick vanilla notes, and very little else. The taste is heavy on the sugary vanilla up front, before a lesser mixed citrus juiciness pushes its way in, all over top of a generic bready and grainy malt backbone.

The carbonation is quite active in its palate-coating frothiness, the body a solid medium weight, and generally smooth, with a gentle creaminess slowly evolving as things warm up a tad around here. It finishes sweet, the vanilla and lemon/lime flavours maintaining their stranglehold on my various senses.

Overall, this bears hardly any resemblance to beer, and seems much more like Smirnoff Ice, and its ilk. Which is not to say that I don't like the flavour, because I do - it's just that, by the end, it was just too saccharine, with none of the typical off-sets that might provide at least a modicum of balance.

This will be another of my entries for New Odds & Sods Sunday (Week 633). I recently completed a massive horizontal of New Belgium beers & now I am drinking & reviewing (mostly) single-o beers from The Bottle Backlog here at Chez Woody. My efforts are really beginning to pay off in that I am seeing movement & floor space + my guilt is beginning to abate.

From the bottle: "Dive right in and join the journey where sea meets sand. Just bring yourself, no shades or suits required."; "Like the cool ocean mist on a bright and hazy summer day, Coney Island Hard Lemon Lime Twist Citrus Ale serves up the sensational tastes of lemon, lime and vanilla."

I Pop!ped the cap & began a gentle pour, in keeping with my New Year's Resolution and my Lenten denial. Aggro pours from bottles are now (mostly) a thing of the past. The pour was revealing a pearlescent drink, so I slowed to a stop & gave it a vigorous swirl. This raised barely a finger of foamy, fizzy, bone-white head that acted as though it were pop, quickly dissipating to nothingness. Color was, indeed, a pearlescent white (SRM - N/A) with NE-quality clarity. Nose was heavy with vanilla, underlain with a Sprite-like lemon-lime citrusiness. Hmm. Mouthfeel was thin, watery, very evocative of pop. The taste was quite sweet with a lot of vanilla overlaying the lemon-lime citrusiness. I am almost embarrassed to say that I liked this, but it was such a different change of pace from everything else today that I almost could not help but like it. Finish was sweet, but thankfully, not cloying. Yeah, it's an alcopop, but it was one of the tastier ones that I have tried. Y'know, if they put this in a CAN, I would definitely have some in my beach cooler.

Aroma is lemon/lime soda, sort ofsimilar to 7-Up. The flavor is lime, vanilla, medium/somewhat funky sweetness and a tart/grainy/slightly sour finish.
