Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a one finger dark khaki head with great retention and nice lacing. Looks good. Aroma of mild dark toasted malt, cinnamon and cocoa; a bit of an odd mineral note. Flavor is subdued dark toasted malt, slightly sweet, cocoa, cinnamon and a hint of vanilla. Medium bodied with light to medium creaminess. Aroma is subdued and so is the flavor to some extent. Fortunately, the flavor is nicely balanced with good chocolate and malt flavor, but not very assertive. Cinnamon in present mostly in the aroma and may be the odd note I recognized due to the lighter malt. Nice flavor, but need a bit more depth. Well integrated.

12oz can poured into 14oz teku. Poured a nearly solid black color, some hints of brown around the edges, with 1/4 inch of light tan head that had moderate retention and lacing.
The aroma was mostly lightly roasted malts, with a hint of chocolate. Whether that came from the roast or actual chocolate, I couldn't tell. On the tongue, it was pretty similar, some roast, some chocolate.
The body was fairly typical for the style, but maybe a touch more fullness might have helped support the flavors. Drinkability was pretty good, the was smooth and even, with a semi-sweet finish. Overall, a pretty nice brew, worth a shot if you see it.

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a dark brown color with a one finger head of cream colored foam. The head hades rather fast leaving just a trace of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strongest of a chocolate and roasted malt smell mixed with some other aromas of caramel and a bit of cinnamon. Along with these aromas comes a bit of coffee.
Taste – The taste begins with a roasted malt flavor mixed with some cinnamon and a bit of chocolate. As the taste moves on more roast and chocolate come to the tongue. In the end some other flavors of a sweeter molasses, coffee and a bit of a cream taste move to the tongue, leaving one with rather rich and flavorful porter taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is average in terms of its thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is average as well. Ok for the flavors, but a little thicker body may have been slightly better.
Overall – A rather nice lightly spiced and chocolaty porter. A good brew for the fall weather.
