Served on tap in a snifter
Appearance – The beer is served a hazy orange amber color with a tiny white head. The head fades almost instantly leaving almost no lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is big of a caramel and apple smell. These aromas are joined by a funky smell along with a hint of citrus and a little bit of a saltwater as well.
Taste – The taste begins with an apple cider vinegar flavor mixed with a sour green apple and some light hints of caramel. A hint of salt develops in the middle of the taste with it fading as the taste moves forward. More funk and green apple come to tongue at the end and a little bit of salted caramel coming back, it leaves one with a sour and drier tangy cider vinegar taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is thin and crisp with a carbonation that consists of light prickly bubbles. For the sour nature of the brew the feel is rather well done, making the sour and tart flavors palatable and more welcomed on the tongue.
Overall – Ah.. Not really the best sour out there. I would have liked a bit more sweetness for the caramel and the apple with a rather larger showing of salt. Overall it was OK, but nothing to go out of your way to get.
