super weird, but you have to respect it, especially since the execution is on point. not sure i have had tomatillo in a beer before, its neat how distinctive it is in this, like its definitely identifiable, maybe not to everyone, but if you have working familiarity with growing and using them, you will know it right away that they are in here, so cool! the base sour is fine, on the light side, simple, thank goodness, we dont need any more from it, its lemony and the acidity is middle of the road, the beer is mild overall. its weird this has all kinds of other stuff in it, mint stands out, but the rest of it really doesnt, other herbs and fruit, mango and cilantro and what else, maybe just a hint of jalapeno spice and pineapple sweetness to balance it, but uniquely, its the tomatillo that pops, enhanced by some lime to my palate, but its acidic and green and natural and awesome in this base beer, right off the plant, aromatic as it is flavorful, so cool! this mint is unexpected but it works, and its definitely not too fruity. super cool beer, like way way cool, smart recipe, great execution. i love these guys, killer core beers and some really fun experimental stuff like this. so glad i got to try some!
