i am always worried when a sour is served in a pint glass, i think its too big a serving, doesnt suit the sour styles well, and often is more of it than i want to drink, so i was skeptical when this came to me that way, despite its pretty jewel pink tone and active white head. nice looking pint as they go. turns out the beer is delicious, not too acidic, and more in the berliner type range than anything more contemporary, despite the fruit, and so its a beer that is both refreshing and drinkable, and a pint ends up being an appropriate dose for once. the fruit is really natural, tart and just a little sweet, maybe a touch of cherry candy to it, but it seems to me like real cherries were used. the base beer seems to have some wheat in its foundation, and stays very pale and light. some minerals make it distinct. the sourness is really clean, and very moderate, toned way down compared to what is trendy right now. lightly citric, just tangy though, enough to dry out the finish without it being harsh on the teeth or guts. its smooth and has a nice lighter medium body, great carbonation, and a real summery vibe overall, extending the good weather feels just a little longer. i have been super impressed with these guys across a number of styles now. this is really solid for what it is, a style i dont generally love. bravo!
